Further cooperation: Union Health Minister meets ASEAN delegation

Union Minister for Health Dr Thet Khaing Win received a delegation led by ASEAN Secretary-General Dato Lim Jock Hoi at the Ministry in Nay Pyi Taw, Monday afternoon.

During the meeting, they discussed the supply of COVID-19 vaccines to My­anmar by the COVID-19 ASEAN Re­sponse Fund. From November 2021, more than 50 types of medicines and medical supplies worth over 1.188 million USD have been distrib­uted to 58 hospitals and 17 regional and state public health departments through the ASEAN AHA Centre and the My­anmar Red Cross Society to provide humanitarian assistance to COVID-19 preventive measures in Myanmar as the first and second grants, the Union Minister underlined.

The meeting also highlighted conditions for collaborating for the third grant and medical treatment and vaccination supervised by the Ministry of Health for the COVID-19 disease pre­vention, control and treatment activities.The Ministry and the ASEAN Sec­retariat held a cordial exchange of views on further cooperation in the provision of the COVID-19 vaccines.
