Anti-Illegal Trade: Illegal Teak, Utensil, Foodstuff And Vehicles Seized

An effective action is being taken to prevent illegal trade in accordance with the law under the supervision of the Anti-Illegal Trade Steering Committee.

An inspection team led by the Forest Department conducted an inspection under the management of the Anti-Illegal Trade Task Force and seized illegal timber on Thandwe-Taungup road, Thandwe Township, Rakhine State on 18 March, Consumer goods in excess of what was stated in the import declaration ID at Mayangchaung Permanent Checkpoint in Mon State on the day.

M-150 energy soft drinks in one passenger van driving from Myawady to Mandalay with undocumented goods on 19th March, five CANDA and KENBO (unlicensed) motorcycles in Lahe Township, Naga Self-Administered Zone, illegal teak in Indaw Township of Katha District, illegal sawn timber of teak, ironwood and others Bago Region on the same day. Therefore, a total of ten arrests (estimated at over 10.92 million Kyats) were made on three consecutive days, according to the Anti-Illegal Trade Steering Committee.
