
The Ministry of Health has been accelerating COVID-19 prevention, control and treatment measures and procedures.
The Ministry reported 227 new COVID-19 cases at 8 p.m. on Sunday after testing 11,481 patients within 24 hours. 2 patients have died due to the disease while 914 patients have recovered and were discharged from hospitals. Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Myanmar have reached 608,990 with 19,425 deaths and 564,660 COVID-19 patients have been discharged from the hospitals.
COVID-19 vaccine is being injected to those of priority groups in regions and states for prevention and control of the disease. Up to 19th March, 2022, over 25.65 million people have been vaccinated. Of them, over 21.62 million people have been vaccinated two times and over 4.02 million people once.
Therefore, over 47.27 million doses of COVID-19 jabs have been vaccinated. Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
