Human traffickers sentenced: Human traffickers sentenced to 10-year imprisonment

Monywa District Court sentenced three people to 10-year imprisonment with labour each on 15th March for their involvement in trafficking a girl to a Chinese man. The three suspects Khin San Wai (aka) Khin Than Wai, Poe Poe (aka) Poe Ei Win and Hla Shwe (aka) Chit Swe Oo from Kyauktaga Township of Bago Region promised a 20 year-old girl, from Monywa Township of Sagaing Region a well-paid job and sold her to a Chinese man.

The case was opened against the three suspects at Monywa Myoma Police Station under Section 24/32 of the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Law. Then, the court convicted the sentence after Khin San Wai, Poe Poe and Hla Shwe were found guilty under Section 24/32 of the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Law.
