COVID-19 Update: 489 New Cases With 3 Deaths Reported on March 16

The Ministry of Health has been accelerating COVID-19 prevention, control and treatment measures and procedures. The Ministry reported 489 new COVID-19 cases at 8 p.m. on Wednesday after testing 14,895 lab specimens within 24 hours.

3 patients have died due to the disease while 1,214 patients have recovered and were discharged from hospitals. Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Myanmar have reached 607,399 with 19,417 deaths and 560,887 COVID-19 patients have been discharged from the hospitals.

The World’s worst-hit countries are the United States of America, India, Brazil, France, the United Kingdom, Germany, Russian Federation, Turkey, Italy and Spain, according to the World Health Organization. Globally, as of 7:57pm CET, 16 March 2022, there have been over 460 million confirmed cases of COVID-19, including over 6.05 million deaths.
