VP Harris holds equal pay forum with US women footballers

U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris met with current and former members of the U.S. Women's National Soccer Team for a discussion on pay equity across the United States.

The forum was part of the White House marking Equal Pay Day by taking new steps aimed at ending the gender pay gap for federal workers and contractors. President Joe Biden on Tuesday is signed an executive order that encourages the government to consider banning federal contractors from seeking information about job applicants' prior salary history.

Equal Pay Day is designed to call attention to how much longer women must work to earn what men earned in the previous year.Harris discussed with the players an equal pay lawsuit against the U.S. Soccer Federation, which was settled in February for $24 million.
