COVID-19 Prevention: Vaccination Programme Continues In Regions & States

Ministry of Health has been conducting the COVID-19 vaccination programme in Nay Pyi Taw Council area, regions and states for the disease prevention and control.

On the 12th of March, residents in 15 townships in Mon and Kayin states, 26 townships in Ayeyawaddy Region, 4 townships in Rakhine State and 4 townships in Bago Region received the COVID-19 vaccines.

Also, residents in Kachin State, Tanintharyi Region, Mandalay Region, Magway Region, northern Shan State and eastern Shan State received the vaccines.

Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Most people who fall sick with COVID-19 will experience mild to moderate symptoms and recover without special treatment.

However, some will become seriously ill and require medical attention. The Ministry of Health purchased millions of COVID-19 vaccines and also accepted millions donated by friendly countries.
