Agriculture Sector: Union Minister Opens Organic Fertilizer Production Plant

Union Minister for Cooperatives and Development of Rural Areas U Hla Moe and officials ceremonially opened the SanWaDi Organic Fertilizer Production Plant in LelThar Village of Pobbathiri Township in Nay Pyi Taw area on Friday. 

In his remarks, the Union Minister highlighted advantages of the use of organic fertilizer like nutritious vegetables production at low cost. He expressed the plan to distribute this Plant’s organic fertilizer to farmers and growers through the cooperatives.

Director General of the Cooperative Department stressed that the country during the fiscal year of 2019/2020 imported 12 metric tons of fertilizer andusing the local organic fertilizer can reduce the import.

He pledged to conduct awarness programmess among the farmers and growers for the use of local organic fertilizer. The Union Minister also viewed around the plant.

This SanWaDi Organic Fertilizer Production Plant on a 5-acre land plot is 162 feet long and 72 feet wide, and it cost over 139 million Kyats. Machines for the Plant were bought from Mandalay industrial zones and imported from China.
