





The 2022 Region/State Myanmar Traditional Martial Art ‘Thaing’ Competition kicked off on Thursday. This ‘Thaing’ Competition opening ceremony at the Wunna Theikdi Stadium (B) in Nay Pyi Taw was attended by members of the State Administration Council, union ministers and many other high-ranking officials.
In his remarks, Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs U Min Thein Zan stressed that the Competition aims to promote the Myanmar Traditional Martial Art ‘Thaing’ and attract the attention of the young people as well as to produce new generation martial artists. He committed himself to include the Myanmar Traditional Martial Art ‘Thaing’ into the SEA Games and international sports competitions.
He also called for efforts for conservation and handing down from generation to generation. 135 martial artists from 12 teams have been participating in this Myanmar Traditional Martial Art ‘Thaing’ Competition at the Wunna Theikdi Stadium (B) from the 10th to the 14th of February.
