COVID-19 Prevention: Vaccination Programme Continues In Regions & States

Ministry of Health has been conducting the COVID-19 vaccination programme in Nay Pyi Taw Council area, regions and states for the disease prevention and control.

On the 7th of February, residents in 2 townships in northern Shan State, 2 townships in eastern Shan State, 6 townships in Mon and Kayin states, 2 townships in Tanintharyi Region, 1 township in Yangon Region, 26 townships in Ayeyawaddy Region, 9 townships in Rakhine State, 2 townships in Sagaing Region and 3 townships in Bago Region received the COVID-19 vaccines.

In Kyaikhto Township of Mon State, from the 3rd to the 6th of February, 1,580 people received the COVID-19 booster shot. Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus.

Most people who fall sick with COVID-19 will experience mild to moderate symptoms and recover without special treatment. However, some will become seriously ill and require medical attention. The Ministry of Health purchased millions of COVID-19 vaccines and also accepted millions donated by friendly countries.
