Cotton industry: Coordination meeting on cotton industry held

The coordination meeting on the accuracy of figures in growing, yielding, producing and utilizing of cotton and the stability of domestic price was held at the Ministry of Commerce on Friday through Virtual system.

At the meeting, the Union Minister Dr. Pwint Hsan said the status of acquiring to procure cotton raw materials for the state-owned and private-owned textile mills, domestic yielded cottons to be able to buy for the domestic textile manufacturing industries sufficiently and to be permitted for the export, to gain equal benefits among the cotton farmers, textile factories using the local produced cotton and local cotton entrepreneurs, to facilitate the processes for the sustainability of cotton sector, progress of local job opportunities, increase of domestic production and to be smooth and convenient to buy domestic cotton etc. were coordinated in detail.

The meeting was attended by the deputy minister U Nyunt Aung and officials, responsible officials from the ministry of agriculture, livestock and irrigation and ministry of industry, responsible persons from Myanmar Cotton and Cotton Products, Merchants and Manufacturers Association, textile entrepreneurs association and weaving entrepreneurs associations.
