Efforts For The Public: 10,000-Room Public Rental Housing Project Underway

Central Committee on Public Rental Housing Project held a coordination meeting at the Ministry of Construction in Nay Pyi Taw in line with the COVID-19 prevention guidelines.

In his video message to the meeting, Union Minister for Construction U Shwe Lay stressed that the Public Rental Housing Project is part of COVID-19 recovery plan. He also highlighted the importance of adherence to COVID-19 prevention guidelines at the construction sites and praised the 3 construction-related associations taking care of the project for their efforts despite challenges.

He called on the officials to complete the Phase 1 of the Project in March and April. The meeting continued with discussions on matters including timely completion of the project, ways to tackle the challenges and housing rent policy. 10,000-room public rental housing project in underway in Nay Pyi Taw Council Area, Yangon Region and Mandalay Region.

The project in Dhakhinathiri Township of Nay Pyi Taw Council Area is for 704 rooms and the project in Patheingyi Township of Mandalay Region includes 3,008 rooms while 3,104 rooms at the project in Dagon Myothit (South) Township of Yangon Region.
