Land Management: State Vacant, Fallow & Virgin Land Management Committee Meets

The Shan State Vacant, Fallow and Virgin Land Management Committee organized its meeting 1/2022 at the State Government office in Taunggyi, Tuesday.

In his address, Chairman of the State Farmland Management Committee and the State Vacant, Fallow and Virgin Land Management Committee, Shan State Chief Minister Dr. Kyaw Tunstressed the needs for paying compensation to those who are entitled to compensate and for the lands involved in the national projects.

In Shan State, the Management Committee for Vacant, Fallow and Virgin Lands allows to grant only the free areas and lands that are managed in line with the law of respective ministries for the cases applied for the land use.He also called for extended cultivation of perennial trees such as coffee, tea and orange that are suitable with the region to create job opportunities for the locals and distribution of quality strains. Officials read out and approved 6/2021 meeting minutes and also discussedreports of 1/2022 meeting.
