COVID-19 Update: 124 New Cases Reported At 8 P.M. On January 8

The Ministry of Health has been accelerating COVID-19 prevention, control and treatment measures and procedures.

The Ministry reported 124 new COVID-19 cases at 8 p.m. on Saturday after testing 10,311 patients within 24 hours. 2 COVID-19 positive patients have died while 193 patients have recovered and were discharged from hospitals. Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Myanmar have reached 531,925 with 19,290 deaths and 509,950 COVID-19 patients have been discharged from the hospitals.

Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Most people who fall sick with COVID-19 will experience mild to moderate symptoms and recover without special treatment. However, some will become seriously ill and require medical attention.
