COVID-19 Update: 144 New Cases Reported At 8 P.M. On January 4

The Ministry of Health reported 144 new COVID-19 cases at 8 p.m. on Tuesday after testing 10,957 lab specimens within 24 hours.

1 COVID-19 positive patients have died while 256 patients have recovered and were discharged from hospitals. Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Myanmar have reached 531,299 with 19,278 deaths and 509,182 COVID-19 patients have been discharged from the hospitals.

The World’s worst-hit countries are United States of America with over 54.91 million confirmed cases followed by India, Brazil, The United Kingdom, Russian Federation, France, Turkey, Germany, Spain, Italy according to the World Health Organization. Globally, as of 6:18 p.m. Central European Time on January 4th, 2022, there have been over 290.95 million confirmed cases of COVID-19, including over 5.44 million deaths, reported to WHO.

The Ministry of Health has given instructions for office/department staff and everyone’s active cooperation in following the COVID-19 preventive measures including reminders of staying safe and healthy during the pandemic.
