74th Independence Day: Flag Hoisting & Saluting Ceremonies Held In Yangon

Yangon Government organized the flag-hoisting and saluting ceremonies to mark the 74th Independence Day in the morning on 4th January, 2022.

The ceremonies were held at the People's Square in line with COVID-19 preventive guidelines.

Those presented at the ceremonies were Yangon Region Chief Minister U Hla Soe, Commander of Yangon Command Maj-Gen Nyunt Win Swe, Regional Government Ministers, region advocate-general, region auditor-general, senior Tatmadaw officers, representatives of national people and departmental officials.

The flag hoisting platoon raised the flag at 4:20 am. At 7 am, Chief Minister of Yangon Region U Hla Soe and the attendees saluted the State flag together with the Guard of Honour.

The Guard of Honour also saluted the nation’s fallen martyrs and soldiers, and took the four-point oath. Then, the Chief Minister read the message of greetings sent by Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing for the 74th Anniversary Independence Day and the celebration was concluded.
