Kayin New Year: Kayin National New Year celebrated in Pathein

The ceremony of Kayin National New Year celebration was held at Pin Lon Hall of Basic Education High School (5), Pathein Township, Ayeyawady Region in the morning on January 2 and the member of State Administration Council Mann Nyein Maung, Chief Minister U Tin Maung Win, Commander of North-West Command Maj-Gen Aung Aung, departmental officials, Kayin national people and invited guests.

First, the flag hoisting ceremony was held and gave salute to the flag. Next, SAC member Man Nyein Maung opened the ceremony by giving 9 beats on the Kayin traditional drum and read the New Year message conveyed by the Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing.

Afterward, the Chief Minister and Commander extended New Year greetings. Next, the region minister for ethnic affairs read the Kayin National New Year message conveyed by the Union Minister for Ethnic Affairs.

Then, the Buddhist monk Baddanta Thumana and Catholic Bishop Father Pius Mann Tha Hwe gave the New Year greetings and SAC member Mann Nyein Maung delivered a conclusion remark. Then, SAC member Mann Nyein Maung, Chief Minister and Commander viewed the exhibition booths displayed the traditions and customs.
