Drugs seized: Heroin and opium arrested

The Heroin worth over one billion kyats was arrested in Kyaukse Township and AungMyayTharZan Township, according to Myanmar Police Force.

Acting on a tip-off, the combined forces including the members of Mandalay Region Police Force inspected AD Van vehicle on the road side near Ye Ywar, Kyaukse Township, at 9:30 p.m. on December 29, driven by Kyaw Zin Lin. A search of the vehicle turned up 22 Kilos of heroin valued at over 550 million kyat.

According to the investigation, the seized heroins were carried to transport to PyiGyiTaGun Township from Pyin Oo Lwin Township. Similarly, the combined forces including the members of Anti-Narcotics Task Force stopped and inspected Foton 6-wheelers driven by Nay Myo Aung and a motorbike ridden by Min Min Oo by 21st Street and 86x87 corner at 10:30 a.m. on December 31 and arrested 19.69 kilos of Heroin and 8.5 kilos of opium worth over 490 million Kyats.

According to the investigation, the seized heroins and opium were carried to transport to Sagaing Region from Shan State (North). The suspects were charged under the Law and the investigations are underway to capture the rest of the suspects, according Myanmar Police Force.
