Jade Mine Collapsed: About 100-Ft Hillside Collapsed In Hpakant

At least 50 people went mission due to the collapse of jade mine in LoneKhin of Hpakant in Kachin State on early Wednesday.

The incident happened at about 100-ft hillside from the old mining plot of Sein Sein Company in Thayakone village.

The rescue measures are being out with the collective efforts of the social organizations, fire brigade, and red cross society.

Staff Officer, HpaKant Township Fire Services Department, Pyay Nyein said “The incident happened at around 4 am in the early morning at the mining plot of Sein Sein Company in Thayakone of LoneKhin. The rescue efforts are underway at present. Many miners have gone along with the collapse of landfill.”

It is learnt that one body was found at 10:55 am in the morning.
