Preparations For COVID: Union Minister Held Meetings With Health Service Personnel

Union Minister for Health Dr. Thet Khaing Win held the coordination meetings on the preparations for the COVID-19 prevention, control and treatment with medical superintendents of People’s Hospitals, Township health officials and responsible persons from the private hospitals and clinics in Yangon Region on 20th and 21st December.

At the meeting with medical superintendents of People’s Hospitals and Township Health Officers, the union minister elaborated the experience, incidences and obstacles during the 3rd wave of Delta Virus infection and the current situation of Omicron variant and urged to carry out necessary preparations  and to supervise for adhering to the Quarantine Procedure.    

The medical superintendents of People’s Hospitals and Township Health Officers reported the status of duty attendance by the medical personnel, opening of treatment wards in hospitals, receiving and using Oxygen Plant, Liquid Oxygen, Oxygen Cylinders, preparations of ICU/HDU/ Isolation Ward and the status of giving treatment to COVID and Non-COVID patients. In responding to the reports, the union minister discussed the related matters and gave necessary instructions.  

 In the afternoon on December 21, the union minister met with the responsible persons from the private hospitals and laboratories at the meeting room of Yangon Region Public Health Department.

At the meeting, the union minister first extended his gratitude for the cooperation during the critical period of COVID-19 3rd wave and urged to carry out necessary preparations in private hospitals, to give treatment in line with the Standard Guideline, to report information to the ministry in timely manner and the more cooperation of private health services entrepreneurs with the ministry. He also instructed to put entry of vaccinations to the Vaccine Management Information System and invited to discuss the matters on Public Private Partnership services and Cooperate Social Responsibility activities etc.
