Efforts For Rakhine State: Union Ministers Make Inspections And Provide Aid

Chairman of the Coordination Committee on Implementation of Peace and Stability and Development in Rakhine State Union Minister for Border Affairs Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung, Union Minister U Ko Ko Hlaing and Union Minister Dr. Thet Thet Khine visited Pauktaw Township of Rakhine State on December 16.

During the visit, they inspected the vaccination processes at Kyeinnibyin IDP camp, station hospitals and Basic Education Middle School.  They also met with the displaced persons at Thetkepyin IDP camp in Sittwe and at Otthalin Monastery in Mingan Ward.

There, they highlighted the supports to ensure the peace and stability, development, humanitarian aid and socio-economic development and resettlement programmes.

 Also, the Union Minister for Border Affairs inspected paving concrete on the one mile and one furlong long Gangawkyun-Zawmatet-Chaungnwe intersection of Sittwe, construction of 150 feet long Zawmatet Bridge and the 3-storey RC building of Shwezedi Monastic School in Sittwe.

On December 17, the Union Ministers and Rakhine State Chief Minister visited Taung Pyo Letwe repatriation centre in Maungtaw Township, Ngakhuya repatriation centre and Hlapokhaung camp, and provided cash assistance to the staff. In Paletwa Township, they met with town elders, cultural team members and representatives of IDP camps and discussed relocation processes and regional development programmes, and handed over the assistance for the displaced persons.

The Union Minister for Border Affairs also met with the trainees of the border area national race youth development training school in Paletwa and inspected the school.

At Teinnyo Village IDP camp in Mrauk-U Township, they provided 400 sets of school uniforms and 400 dozens of notebooks for students staying at IPD camp and 894 bags of rice for 2,862 displaced persons. They also inspected the road expansion project in Lakkar Village of Mrauk-U Township and construction of a 2-storey RC monastery and 323 houses in the village.
