Covid-19 Prevention: Vaccination Programme Continues In Yangon

Ministry of Health has been conducting the COVID-19 vaccination programme in Nay Pyi Taw Council area, regions and states for the disease prevention and control.

The vaccination programme continues in Thingangyun Township of Yangon Region, and residents aged between 18 and 40 years and those above 40 received the Sinopharm and Sinovac COVID-19 vaccines. Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Most people who fall sick with COVID-19 will experience mild to moderate symptoms and recover without special treatment. However, some will become seriously ill and require medical attention.

The Ministry of Health purchased millions of COVID-19 vaccines and also accepted millions donated by friendly countries. Also, one million units of vaccines donated by and purchased from Russia will arrive in Myanmar this month.
