
The coordination meeting to organize the Third Ethnics Cultural Festival with the gesture of welcoming the Diamond Jubilee of 75th anniversary of Union Day with the purposes of national unity, development of ethnic regions, propagation of ethnic traditional cultures and promotion of tourism industry in ethnic regions, was held at the Ministry of Ethnic Affairs on 7th December in line with the instructions of COVID-19 preventive measures.
In his opening speech, the Union Minister for Ethnics Affairs U Saw Tun Aung Myint said that the arrangements are being carried out to hold the 3rd Ethnics Cultural Festival via Virtual system from 11th to 15th December with the collaboration of the ministry of ethnics’ affairs, MRTV of the ministry of information and Myanmar Ethnic Entrepreneurs Association. The union minister urged the participants to discuss the preparations by the stakeholders in relevant sectors as the festival is drawing nearer and the close cooperation of Myanmar Ethnic Entrepreneurs Association with MRTV. The deputy minister U Zaw Aye Maung made a remark that Myanmar Ethnic Entrepreneurs Association can be formed as the outcome of Ethnic Sustainable Development Forum held in 2018.
The association can be extended to the regions and states. With the collaboration of those ethnic entrepreneurs, the first and second Ethnic Cultural Festivals were held in Kyaikkasan ground in 2019 and 2020. The third edition is being arranged to hold as virtual celebration. The MRTV director-general U Ye Naing clarified the broadcasting schedules of programs on the ethnic cultural festival with power point presentation.
Next, the responsible officials from Myanmar Ethnic Entrepreneurs Association clarified the preparation works with power point presentation and discussed the cooperation with MRTV on the programs on the festival to be broadcasted.
Then, the Union Minister, deputy minister, permanent secretary and director-generals and responsible persons from ethnic entrepreneurs association discussed general matters. After delivering speech of conclusion by the union minister, the meeting was concluded.
