OneMap Myanmar: Meeting For Myanmar National Mapping System

Myanmar National Mapping System (OneMap Myanmar) Implementation Working Committee held its first meeting on Friday.

At the meeting, Deputy Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation U Min Min Oo said that the OneMap Myanmar project has been underway for more than six years to develop a standardized mapping system in Myanmar, to ensure accurate ground data for land resources and land management, and to make the mapping system uniform.

With the fund assistance from the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), the Centre for Development and Environment (CDE), University of Bern, provided technical support, and the Department of Forest, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation, acted as the focal department in implementing the OneMap Myanmar. Attendees made discussions of the respective departments to address the difficulties and needs in implementing the project.
