The opening ceremony of consultation workshop for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and National Indicator Framework (NIF) status was held on Thursday in Nay Pyi Taw.

In his opening speech, Union Minister for Planning and Finance U Win Shein stressed that the workshop must be a help to make the National Indicator Framework (NIF) Status Report 2021 and Myanmar pledged to complete the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030. The Union Minister added that works for the Goals are underway based on social, economic, environmental conservation, education and health strategies in line with the Myanmar Sustainable Development Plan.

This workshop is designed to make 4 10-day discussions from the 2nd of December 2021 to the 14th of February 2022. The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) or Global Goals are a collection of 17 interlinked global goals designed to be a "blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all". The SDGs were set up in 2015 by the United Nations General Assembly and are intended to be achieved by the year 2030.
