G7 Ministers agree to speed up clinical trials

The UK's health secretary on Friday praised a decision from G7 health ministers to implement changes that would "speed up the delivery of future medicines". Matt Hancock has been hosting a two-day summit of health ministers in Oxford where a discussion took place over vaccines and how to strengthening global health security amid new variants across the world. Speaking after the summit Hancock said a whole series of actions had been agreed by ministers, in particular one surrounding clinical trials. He added the decision would see more people benefit and would "save lives".
