Cuba prepares for COVID vaccine trials on children

Cuba announced on Wednesday it will begin a pediatric study of its nationally produced vaccine candidates during a news conference in Havana. The tests planned for about 300 minors of a combined scheme of Soberana 02 and Soberana Plus - two doses of the first and one of the second - will take place in the Cuban capital with children from 12 to 18 years of age first, and later include children 3-years old and up, according to the director of Cuba's Finlay Institute which developed the drugs. In total, Cuba has five vaccine candidates under development.
