Basic education schools across Myanmar open in line with Covid-19 instructions set by Ministry of Health and Sports on 1st June.

The posters and vinyl that instructed the Covid-19 guidelines were hanged every places of the school compound. The students do not share the items and use only private ones. The students are allowed to have lunch at their respective tables and not allowed to go to toilet hand in hand. Two trash bins and two hand wash basins were put in each room. There are 250 hand washing basins at the Practicing High School (Yangon) formerly known as TTC school.

Headmistress, TTC, Kamayut, Win Win Nwe said “We have already accepted the school enrollment from 24th May to 31st May and the rest students will be accepted while attending the school. We have been prepared the Covid19 rules since last year and especially today, we prepare more security for the students. 40 students place in a room and the students sit four feet apart each other. We don’t give the permission to open the snack stalls. I want to urge only to think about the students’ education not think about other things and want them to enroll the school for the sake of their children.”

TTC has over 6000 students and about 2000 students have already enrolled the schools. That is 30% of the students in the schools.

Student, Grade-9 said “I am very glad to meet with friends and study at the schools. During one year term delay, I do housework and bought the text books in advance to study. The school provided face shields, masks, and textbooks.”

Student, Grade-9 said “I am happy to meet with my friends and teachers. During one year term delay, I study English and teach my young brother. I want to see my friends who don’t still enroll the school.”

At the TTC, students are to attend their classes with the two shifts, 1-week on and 1-week off. The students need to stand 6 feet apart, and, when they enter the school compound, teachers make body temperature screening.
