
The Chairman of State Administration Council of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and commander in chief of defense services senior general Min Aung Hlaing delivered a speech to the people regarding with the situations of the country on Monday.
In his speech, the Chairman of State Administration Council said that Tatmataw is an institution which always dedicates the motto “only people are the parents” in successive eras when it comes to the people. And it’s also an institution which stands strongly the country’s national political leading role and which respects and complies with the provisions of the state constitution (2008).
Tatmataw transited multi party democracy system desired by the people peacefully with the political culture through the approaches of negotiation, law and procedures.
Next, the Chairman of State Administration Council pointed out that the free and fair elections are the key requirements for the sustainability of the democratic system and quoted his 2020 New Year address said that “ 2020 is an important year for the country because it is the year to hold the election and it’s crucial to be firmness of democratic system. And the senior general also expressed that there is no important thing than the ethnic affairs and national interest and only the honest politics and fair and justice politics are wanted said, at the third anniversary of signing Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement (NCA) held on 15th October, 2018 and “there is no one above the law” at the fourth union peace conference-21st century Panglong held on 20th August, 2020.
The Chairman of State Administration Council related the general elections and by-elections which were free and fair and transparent and the series of incidents which caused the vote rigging, election disputes and voting lists irregularities in 2020 general election. at the end, the situation led to form the state administration council. The senior general elaborated 5 roadmap issued after forming the state administration council.
The union election commission has been re-constituted to continuously take appropriate measures including checking the voting lists in accord with the law, Prevention of current outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic will be effectively carried out with momentum, Efforts will be made to recover the businesses caused by COVID-19 pandemic as quickly as possible, Emphasis will be placed as much as ossible on restoring eternal peace all over the country in accord with the Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement (NCA, When these tasks have been completed in accord with the provisions of the state emergency, a free and fair multiparty general election will be held and then, the assigned duty of the state will be handed over to the winning party meeting norms and standards of democracy.
The Chairman of State Administration Council reaffirmed no shifting of foreign policy, administrative policy and economic policy during the period of interim government, conveyed the message of reopening the pagodas and temples, pledged to reopen the schools in line with the COVID-19 rules and instructions, restoring the communication lines if it’s not affected the rule of law, reopening of factories and workshops in accord with the COVID-19 rules, bringing back Myanmar nationals stranded in foreign countries during the COVID-19 pandemic, repatriation of displaced persons from Bangladesh in line with the bilateral agreement and country’s stance.
At the conclusion of his address, the Chairman of State Administration Council senior general Min Aung Hlaing clarified the State Administration Council’s approaches to serve duty of the history with the political cultural and urged the national brethren to cooperate based on the actual facts rather than the emotion.
