Global coronavirus infections top 13 million: AFP tally

More than 13 million coronavirus infections have now been recorded across the world, according to an AFP tally on Monday. At least 13 million cases and over 569,000 deaths have been recorded and the United States is the worst-hit country with over 3.34 million cases and 135,425 deaths.

The number of cases stood at over 3.38 million in Latin America and the Caribbean, including over 144,000 fatalities. In Europe, over 2.84 million infections have been recorded and 202,780 deaths. The spread of the pandemic is accelerating across the globe.
