



Dhammakaya Foundation from Thailand organized establishment of the auspicious stones for the Udhakukkhepa Seema in conjunction with Sannaspathra title award offering ceremony at the Sri Salavana Bodhi Viharaya, Kandy in Sri Lanka in the second week of this month.
The Foundation opens University of Sri Lanka Mahawili National College of Education in Kandy.
Myanmar and Sri Lanka have established much closed relations since many decades and the two countries have strengthening mutual respects and understanding each other. It was bond of the friendship and boosting relations based on Buddhism since long time ago.
Ambassador, Embassy of Myanmar in Sri Lanka, H.E. Han Thu said “Myanmar and Sri Lankha relations are based on culture and religion, especially on Buddhism. I’m very satisfied to see receiving the outstanding religious titles by our Buddhist monks and laypersons in Sri Lanka. Myanmar government also donated elephants to Sri Lankha government for religious occasions. I’m so glad to see the donation of Shwe Than Lwin Company for ordination.”
Currently, more than 600 Myanmar Buddhist monks and about 40 Myanmar nuns are learning Bachelor, Master and Ph.D programs at the Buddhist Universities of Sri Lankha.
Speaker, Parliament of Sri Lanka, Karu Jayasuriya said “It’s a very special occasion for us. I am very happy the distinguish delegations coming from Myanmar ….. We are both Theravada countries……We must cooperate and we must work together for the propagation of Buddhism. Because, there is a great trust, there is a great demand, for Buddhism.”
The Myanmar Buddhist Monks and laypersons also received the honorable religious titles in the event.
Founder, Dhammaduta Buddhist University, Dr. Ashin Pannyissara said “I received honorable outstanding awards presented by the Sri Lanka government and religious organizations for the efforts for prorogation and promotion of the Buddha Sasana in Myanmar. I also got M.A degree in Sri Lankha for long time ago. I founded Dhamaduta meditation center and Dhammaduta Buddhist University in Myanmar.”
Member, State Sangha Mahanayaka Committee, Dr. Tejobhasabhivamsa said “I received outstanding religious title. I also pleased that the religious leaders and government are working hand-and-hand for the promotion of Buddha Sasana. I will try hard for the propagation of Buddha Sasana in my country.”
More than 500 Venerable monks from local and abroad, governmental officials from Sri Lanka and invited guests from neighboring countries attended the ceremony.
