Floods In Yangon: Wards In Inn Sein And Schools In North Okkalapa Inundated

The inundation occurred along Lan Thit road in Inn Sein Township and at the descending of Inn Sein overpass on the Wednesday morning because of heavy rains.

As the main water channels in the Township are connected with Hlaing River in Inn Sein Kannar ward, Ywama ward, Inn Sein Kanna west ward, Taung Thu Kone and Nant Tha Kone wards in the township are flooded annually if the Hlaing River swells, according to township Information and Public Relations Department.

The torrential rains trigged floods to schools, housings, roads, markets and some departmental offices in North Okkalapa Township of Yangon Region starting 4th August.

Due to the floods, some schools in North Okkalapa township have been closed and precautionary measures are being undertaken to prevent floods from No.2 ward and Shwe Pauk Kan Myo Thit.
