YRIC Meeting: Yangon Region Investment Committee held meeting

The Yangon Region Investment Committee held its meeting (9/2025) at the Yangon Region Investment Committee Office in Yankin Township, Yangon Region on September 24.

The meeting was attended by the Chairman of Yangon Region Investment Committee, Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein, committee members, and specially invited guests.

First, Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein and officials inspected the product samples displayed by investor businesses.

Then, the Committee Chairman, Chief Minister U Soe Thein, delivered an address.

Following this, the Yangon Region Investment Committee approved one (100% Myanmar citizen-owned) investment project in the Hotel and Tourism sector, one (100% Myanmar citizen-owned) investment project in the Industrial sector, one 100% (foreign-owned) investment project, two joint-venture foreign investment projects.

The approved projects are a hotel service business, a processing and purification business for various types of beans and sesame for 100% export, a processing, purification, and export business for rice by-products, a manufacturing and sales business for various types of mattresses and foam, a Cut-Make-Pack (CMP) business for manufacturing various wearing apparel.

The total registered capital for these approved investment projects is 6.473 billion Kyats and 4.693 million USD. They are expected to create 1,468 domestic job opportunities.

It is also reported that the meeting discussed and decided on the proposals from 24 companies, including matters related to two businesses seeking to increase their investment amounts and other general issues.
