


Yangon Region Transport Committee (YRTC) will continue to use the “Electronic Payment System” on YBS bus lines in Yangon city.
The YPS cards have been introduced in mid-2020, and the passengers used more than 60,000 cards on 1,900 buses.
YRTC is working to make it possible for passengers to pay by the Yangon Payment System (YPS) cards.
Joint Secretary, Yangon Region Public Transport Committee, LyanCinMang said “We are making efforts to make this YPS payment system available on all YBS buses. This system will solve all problems of services and double charges for passengers. We recommend all passengers to use the YPS card system.”
The YRTC fixes the YPS card price at 2,000 kyats and buyers do not need to pay for the cards if they make 3,000 kyats top-up.
Joint Secretary, Yangon Region Public Transport Committee, LyanCinMang said “We will continue to make the YPS card available on every YBS buses. For YBS buses, they mainly use CNG and some use diesel oil. That’s why, I would like to advice the companies and drivers to charge the price set by the YRTC from the passengers.”
In the future, YRTC will make it possible for passengers to be able to use YPS cards pay for all YBS buses.
