As part of the World Atomic Week, Russia invited young people who are interested in the development of nuclear industry, advanced technologies and breakthrough scientific developments. These young talents joined the youth program which was held from September 26 to 28. This year brought together more than 18,000 students and young professionals from around the world. Among the participants were representatives of Rosmolodezh as well as youth organizations from various countries including the winner of Global Atomic Week 2024 from Myanmar.

Winner, Global Atomic Quiz 2024, Thinzar Cho said “I joined the Global Atomic Quiz because I like learning about science and the future of the energy. The quiz was fun but it also gives me new knowledge about nuclear technology. I also wanted to meet people who are interested in the same field. So the World Atomic Week is very special because it is the 80 anniversary of Russian nuclear industry.”

The program also included the Global Hackatom 2025, where the winning teams at the National Level Competitions from nine partner countries of ROSATOM joined the Russian team. Five young Myanmar students also took part in the world-level atomic competition in Moscow, together with their peers from Brazil, Bolivia, Hungary, Namibia, Rwanda, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Indonesia, and Russia. During the competition, they have 24 hours to find innovative solutions to real-world challenges in the nuclear industry. The Global Hackatom is organized by Russia’s state-owned atomic corporation, Rosatom, to challenge young people from around the world to solve problems related to atomic and other technologies, with the aim of making a positive impact on human life.

The platform provides the youths to meet with outstanding scientists, entrepreneurs and public figures to hear their success stories, and learn about breakthrough technologies. The main goal of the program is to show that the nuclear industry is not only serious and high-tech, but also truly exciting, modern, and full of prospects. It also aimed at attracting young people to the professions of the future, revealing unique opportunities for growth, and emphasizing that nuclear energy needs new talent, fresh ideas, and the energy of the younger generation.
