Youth Affairs: Roundtable Talk held in Mandalay

Organized by Myanmar Youth Affairs Central Committee, with the collaboration of Mandalay Region Youth Affairs Committee and Myanmar Youth Development Association MYDA, youth roundtable talk titled “Role of Educated Youths for Nation Development” took place at the Yadanabon University on Thursday.

Union Minister for Youth Affairs Dr. Maung Thin in his capacity as Chairman (1) of the Myanmar Youth Affairs Central Committee attended the event, together with concerned officials.

In his remark, Union Minister Dr. Maung Thin said youths are invaluable resources of the country as the nation is striving for the development of youth sector with the aims to assist fostering the best outcome for future communities.

The Ministry of Youth Affairs is established by the new government to be able to elevate patriotic spirit of youths with mental and physical strength while enhancing their skills in their related fields for country’s development.

The Union Minister said that through Youth Forums, Roundtable Talks and Educational Talks, critical thinking and problem solving skills of youths will be enhanced. Youths in nationwide are invited to participate in the discussions and talks to enhance their abilities of leadership and critical thinking skills while participating in the efforts to turn out future generations.

The Union Minister called for collective efforts of related organizations to participate in campaigns to promote the youth capacity, appreciating the outstanding youths to create better society.

Subsequently, the Union Minister donated sports equipment to the Yadanabon University. Mandalay Region Chief Minister U Myo Aung later made a speech and presented honourary gifts to the youth representatives who participate in roundtable talk. 5 youth representatives participated in the roundtable discussion under the title “Role of Educated Youths for Nation Development” and answered the questions raised by the students. In the afternoon, the Union Minister and party inspected the designated site to construct Mandalay Region Youths Affairs Office.
