Yangon Zoological Gardens: Clever animal shows resumed every weekend

The Yangon Zoo is the oldest and second largest zoo in Myanmar and located near Shawdagon pagoda and Kandawgyi lake. Various kinds of animals are showcasing in the zoo area and the Clever Animals Shows are also resumed every weekend and public holidays at the zoo to attract and give pleasure for the visitors.

Kyaw Ye Thiha Phay, Zoo Administrator, Yangon Zoological Gardens said "Around 800 to 1,000 visitors visit Yangon Zoo every daily except from public holidays. Normally, about 2,000 or 3,000 visitors pay a visit every weekend."

Clever Animal Shows are suspended during the rainy season and the shows are resumed in the open season, it’s learnt.

Kyaw Ye Thiha Phay, Zoo Administrator, Yangon Zoological Gardens said "It is a program that the visitors can take photos with animals such as birds, kites, falcons and bears. The program has every weekend and public holidays. We also arrange animal feed shops for the visitors to feed animals."

The official said that the visitors can buy animal feed from the shops with reasonable prices. In the zoo, animals are fed twice a day by the zoo keepers in the morning and evening.
