Xi addresses CIFTIS Summit via video

Chinese President Xi Jinping addressed the Global Trade in Services Summit of the 2023 China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) via video Saturday morning.

"Themed 'Openness Leads Development, Cooperation Creates a Win-Win Future,' the CIFTIS this year will continue to play the vital role as a platform to expand opening-up, deepen cooperation, and lead innovation, and forge consensus, enhance confidence and pool efforts for the development of the global service sector and trade in services," Xi said.

The CIFTIS is scheduled to take place in Beijing from Sept 2 to 6. The event has attracted over 2,200 enterprises from 75 countries and international organizations for offline attendance, with the proportion of international participants exceeding 20 percent.
