









The workshop titled "Building a Peaceful Future for Myanmar," commemorating the 10th Anniversary of the Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement (NCA), was held in the afternoon on October 15, at the Jade Hall of the Myanmar International Convention Center (1) in Nay Pyi Taw.
At the opening ceremony of the workshop, Member of the State Security and Peace Commission, Union Minister for the Ministry of Border Affairs and the Ministry of Ethnic Affairs, and Chairman of the National Solidarity and Peacemaking Negotiation Committee, Lt-Gen Yar Pyae, delivered the opening address.
He stated that today's workshop is being held with the aim of reviewing and assessing the implementations, successes, and lessons learned during the 10-year period of the NCA, sharing the experiences and perspectives gained from the peace process among key stakeholders, and promoting unity and integration within Myanmar etc. Subsequently, Secretary of the National Solidarity and Peacemaking Negotiation Committee, Lt-Gen Min Naing, explained the purpose and agenda for holding the international workshop.
Following this, the Moderator delivered opening remarks to initiate discussions under the theme "Exploring Geo-economic Pathways to Support Myanmar's Peacebuilding with Assistance from Regional and Global Partners." Foreign expert guests from India, Thailand, and Indonesia led discussions on the topics: "Regional Connectivity, Trade, and the Peace Process," "Conflict Economy and Non-Traditional Security Threats," and "Labour Migration, People-to-People Relations, and Post-Disaster/Post-Conflict Reconstruction."
Attendees then shared their views and asked questions, which the lead speakers addressed and discussed further. The Chairman of the National Solidarity and Peacemaking Negotiation Committee, Lt-Gen Yar Pyae, presented commemorative gifts to the foreign expert guests who led the discussions, and a group photo was taken.
The positive perspectives and recommendations emerging from the workshop will be acknowledged and understood and efforts will continue to be made to implement necessary actions for peace, national economic development, security matters, and post-disaster reconstruction. The workshop will continue to be held on October 16, it’s learnt.
