Working Visit: Cambodian Prime Minister arrive in Myanmar

At the invitation of Chairman of the State Administration Council and Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia Samdech Hun Sen arrived in Nay Pyi Taw Friday morning to pay a working visit to Myanmar.

The Cambodian Prime Minister was welcomed by Director General of the Protocol Department U Wunna Han and the Cambodian Ambassador to Myanmar Chhouk Bunna on board of special flight.

Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Wunna Maung Lwin, Union Minister for International Cooperation U Ko Ko Hlaing, Myanmar Ambassador to Cambodia U Thit Linn Ohn, the Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman and officials welcomed the Cambodian Prime Minister and party at the Nay Pyi Taw International Airport.

Moreover, the Guard of Honour together with Myanmar ethnic people and the cultural troupe also welcomed the prime minister and party at the airport. It was followed by the donation ceremony of medical materials from the Government and the People of Cambodia to Myanmar to combat COVID-19.

The Cambodian Prime Minister handed over the donated items to Union Minister U Wunna Maung Lwin. During his visit, Cambodia donated 3 million face masks, 200,000 N95 masks, 100,000 goggles, 30,000 PPEs, 30,000 face shields, 3000 safety plastic boots, 50 units of ventilator machines, 50 units of patient monitor plus accessories and 50 units of oxygen concentrators to Myanmar.

Cambodia is taking the Chairmanship of ASEAN this year, under the theme "ASEAN A.C.T.: Addressing Challenge Together”, aiming to make endeavors to promote ASEAN's spirit as a united family of Ten with a strong sense of "Togetherness" in jointly acting for results to achieve common goals.

And it will contribute more constructively to the maintenance and enhancement of regional and global peace, stability, and sustainable development. Cambodia also announced plan to hold two major side events - the ASEAN Global Dialogue on Post-Covid-19 Comprehensive Recovery and the 2nd ASEAN Women Leaders' Summit on entrepreneurship.
