Work Undertakings : Meeting with MPC and visiting Film Archive

Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn met with members of the Myanmar Press Council on Friday to discuss matters related to election coverage.

The meeting was held at the Film Promotion Division of the Information and Public Relations Department in Bahan Township, Yangon. In his speech, the Union Minister emphasized the important role of the media in supporting the upcoming election through accurate information.

He urged journalists to help the public, especially rural communities and youth, understand the election process and avoid misinformation. Representatives from the Press Council also shared their views and suggestions, to which the Union Minister responded with coordination.

In the afternoon, the Union Minister visited the National Film Archive to inspect the digital preservation of old Myanmar films. He discussed plans for training programs and proper restoration of the nearly 100-year-old building, which once served as the country’s main film censorship and editing facility. Once renovations are complete, the building is expected to serve as a training and preservation center to support the development of Myanmar's film industry.
