













Kachin State Chief Minister U Khet Htain Nan on Wednesday inspected ongoing flood prevention works in Myitkyina, including the construction of sluice gates and stone embankments along the Ayeyawady River, aimed at protecting the city from flooding.
He urged officials to complete all projects on schedule and with quality standards for the 2025–2026 fiscal year. He later met with state ministers, officials, and cultural leaders to discuss preparations for the upcoming 2025 Traditional Harvest Festival and the Ethnic Cultural Exchange Festival in Myitkyina.
The Chief Minister called for close cooperation to ensure successful and well-organized events.
In the afternoon, he visited the District Office Hall to observe the ongoing voter list verification process for the upcoming 2025 multi-party democracy general election, encouraging accuracy and coordination among election officers and administrators. He also attended the Statewide Buddhist Scripture Recitation Competition award ceremony at Sasana Beikmandawgyi, where he and state officials presented awards to winning students.
Additionally, the Chief Minister enjoyed the Ethnic Affairs Minister Cup football quarterfinals at the Nyein Chan Thaya football ground, cheering on teams together with local sports enthusiasts.
Earlier in the day, he attended the D-License Football Coaching Course completion ceremony at the State Sports and Physical Education Department Office, where he delivered opening remarks and presented certificates and honorary awards to instructors and graduates.
