









Magway Region is striving to promote agricultural sector through the cultivation of 10 varieties of main crops to meet targeted yields. On September 5th, a work coordination meeting was held at the Region Government Office where Chief Mister U Tint Lwin discussed the regional government’s effort to improve socio-economic life of people through agro-based industries.
He added that plans are underway to be able to export edible oil by planting more oil crops to meet targeted yields. According to Map Study, there are five designated areas, benefiting over 3,400 acreas on paddy cultivation with the use of solar-powered water pumping system from Ayayawaddy river in Magway and Chauk Townships.
Likewise, over 46,00 acreas in Chauk and Yenangyaung Townships can be implement by river water pumping system. For soil development and cultivation promotion, technology sharing session will be conducted on soil and irrigation water tests, applying natural fertilizers, growing good quality seeds with systematic farming methods and pesticide prevention.
He called for cooperation of all related departments, entrepreneurs and farmers for the success of the projects. The attendees later made sector discussion and the Chief Minister coordinated the needs.
