Welcoming Victorious Basketball Team : Victorious Kachin State basketball team welcomed

In the 2026 Region and State Basketball Competition, the Kachin State basketball team, which secured third-place awards in both the men's 5-on-5 and 3-on-3 events, returned to Myitkyina on Sunday and was welcomed with a celebratory reception at the airport.

The returning victorious basketball team was warmly welcomed at the airport by State Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nan, state government ministers, and the State Advocate General.

They were greeted with honorary bouquets and congratulatory floral garlands by the drums and bugle corps of No. 4 Basic Education High School, students from the Border Areas Ethnic Youth Development School, traditional Lisu cultural dance troupes, athletes who are currently undergoing camp training in various sports along with their coaches and managers, and students from Yuchein  School.

At the airport's VIP lounge hall, the State Chief Minister and officials presented commemorative cash awards to the winning basketball team and the welcoming groups, in recognition of their achievements.
