During his official visit to India, President U Min Aung Hlaing visited the Myanmar Embassy and was on Saturday met with staff and families from the Myanmar Embassy and Military Attaché Office in India, as well as scholarship students studying there.

He noted that this was his first foreign visit as head of state after taking office, following an invitation from the Indian government. He spoke about Myanmar–India relations, saying the two countries share a long history and close ties.

He also explained Myanmar’s political situation, including the 2020 election frauds, the Tatmadaw taking responsibility of the state duty, and efforts to hold a new election. He said the government is working to continue on a democratic path under the 2008 Constitution.

He emphasized the importance of improving education and economic development, and encouraged embassy staff and students to improve their English and computer skills and to contribute to national development. The President also provided gifts and cash rewards to embassy staff and students.
