Virtual Reality Tour: Exhibition opened in Bagan

Famous tour destinations in Myanmar can now be visited in one place via a Virtual Reality Tour. The Ministry of Hotels and Tourism opened the Virtual Reality Tour Exhibition in Bagan.

The opening ceremony was held on 6th February with the attendance of Union Minister Dr Htay Aung. This is the very first Virtual Reality Tour Exhibition in the country, and people can enjoy famous tour destinations from 11 Regions and States in this Virtual Exhibition.

Deputy Director, Directorate of Hotels and Tourism (Bagan Branch), Win Aung said “The Virtual Reality Tour Exhibition was opened in Bagan as a first one among other cities in Myanmar. Through this exhibition, we can make virtual tour to various destinations across the country. The Exhibition is situated at Bagan Information and Training Center near the Tharapa Gate.”

The Ministry is making efforts for development of tourism industry across the country by developing new tour destinations. The ministry created appealing holiday destinations for the visitors to enjoy the beautiful natural landscapes and heritage tourism as well as the community base tourism so as to ensure job opportunities for local residents.

Deputy Director, Directorate of Hotels and Tourism (Bagan Branch), Win Aung said “Being rich in ancient cultural heritages, Bagan is attracted by local and foreign tourists. We will strive for development of tourism industry in cooperation with other related ministries.”

In Bagan, seven new destinations have been developed in the cultural heritage zone. Among these new destinations, the community-based tourism in Zee-O Hla Village, Mount Popa and KyaukMyatMaw Pagoda in Myinkaba Village can be made virtual tour via this exhibition.
