Vietnamese Top Leader receives Japanese Prime Minister

On Saturday morning, Party General Secretary and State President Tô Lâm received Japanese Prime Minister Takaichi Sanae during her official visit to Viet Nam.

The Vietnamese top leader emphasized strong progress in bilateral ties since the upgrade to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership two years ago, underpinned by high political trust. He reaffirmed Viet Nam’s foreign policy of independence, multilateralisation and diversification, and its “four-no” defence policy, stressing that Japan remains a top, trusted and long-term strategic partner.  

For her part, Japanese Prime Minister Takaichi Sanae affirmed Japan’s support for Viet Nam’s reform efforts and economic self-reliance. She also pledged continued support for major cooperation projects, including those under the Partnership on Wide Energy and Resources Resilience Asia initiative, and projects in the fields of energy and strategic minerals.
