Vietnam, Singapore to strengthen investment ties

The two Prime Ministers spoke highly of the bilateral relations between Việt Nam and Singapore spanning over 50 years and discussed future cooperation measures.  Speaking at the conference, Singapore’s Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong affirmed that Singapore is very pleased and honored to have contributed to Vietnam's economic development over the past time.

Up to now, 17 Việt Nam-Singapore Industrial Parks (VSIP) industrial complexes have been built across 9 provinces and cities of Việt Nam, attracting a total investment of 18 billion USD and creating nearly 300,000 jobs. Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh spoke highly of the fruitful achievements gained in the bilateral cooperation over the years.

He also expressed his hopes that the two countries will strengthen economic collaboration especially in new fields such as digital and green transformation, circular and shared economy, innovation, and human resource development.

During the conference, the two Prime Ministers attended the announcement of the Việt Nam - Singapore investment cooperation memorandum of understanding approving investment for 2 new VSIP projects, the cooperation development agreement for 12 new VSIP projects and the commencement of projects.
