Viet Nam bolsters energy ties with Algeria

Amid global supply chain disruptions and Middle East tensions, Viet Nam Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính has proposed deepening energy cooperation with Algeria. During his phone call with his Algerian counterpart Sifi Ghrieb he specifically urged support in crude oil and natural gas supply.

Building on the Strategic Partnership established in November 2025, both nations aim to accelerate joint projects in oil exploration, refining, and renewable energy. For his part, Algerian Prime Minister Sifi Ghrieb reaffirmed his commitment to these ties, pledging to enhance bilateral investment and trade while praising Viet Nam’s balanced approach to global peace and de-escalation.
