



Yangon Region Small Scale Industries Department of the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development conducted 22 technical training courses for value-added products until now in 2022-2023 fiscal year and produced 406 trainees.
Among the trainings, the locals are mostly interested in value-added foodstuff production technical training course and consumer goods production course.
Thet Naing Oo, Head, Yangon Region Small Scales Industries Dept. said “In the technical training course for value-added foodstuff production, the trainees are more interested in jam, juice and wine production based on the fruits produced from their regions because the fruits are abundantly produced from their regions. The locals are more interested in this course because they need the technique to preserve the fruits. Some regions are difficult in transportation access and so, the fruits are over-ripe while sending to the market.”
The Department is giving supports to the trainees for the business as much as possible after the training, The value-added foodstuff training course lasts 7 days and the consumer goods production course is conducted for 5 days.
The trainings are conducted at the Small Scale Industries Department in North Okkalapa Township, Yangon Region and in Thanlyin, Kaw Hmu, KungyanKon,Hmawbe and Taikkyi Townships.
